Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine / Oriental Medicine Training
I received a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine after 4 years of professional level study and internship at the Acupuncture Massage College (AMC) in Miami, FL., the oldest licensed acupuncture school in Florida.
TCM treatment theory, acupuncture, Chinese medical massage called Tuina, Chinese herbs, Western Science and supervised clinical training are included in the demanding curriculum.
The curriculum at AMC exceeds the standards set by the State of Florida and by the National Commission of Certification of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).
Acupuncture Physicians in the State of Florida must complete the usual four year program of study of 2738 hours of professional training. This is similar to the hours of study required of other medical professionals: MD/DO require 2756 hours and DC require 2887 hours.
I was deeply honored at my graduation with the Award for Clinical Excellence determined by the AMC falculty from my entire graduating class.
After passing my National Board Examinations, I received my professional healthcare license from the State of Florida as an Acupuncture Physician.
The Florida Department of Health recognizes Acupuncture Physicians as Primary Care Physicians.
I am a member in good standing in NCCAOM - National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and FSOMA - Florida State Oriental Medical Association.
